(NUI) - Are you able to keep your home comfortable? Do you feel like your home is always either hot as a frying pan or cold as an icebox?

Your home comfort problems may stem from the conventional single-stage furnace found in many homes. Look at these home comfort indicators to find out if your home heating system is keeping you from being comfortable:

* High costs and low efficiency. Ask your home heating contractor to evaluate your home heating system to determine how efficiently it operates. You may only need repairs, but it may be cheaper in the long run to purchase a new and more energy efficient system. A new higher-efficiency furnace may cut energy costs enough to pay for itself. The Tempstar line of SmartComfort two-stage variable-speed furnaces provides your home with energy efficient comfort and savings.

* Uneven temperatures. Temperature swings are common in homes with single-stage furnaces. Single-stage furnaces only operate at full speed, even on days with moderate temperatures. This function prevents the furnace from blowing long enough to spread heat evenly throughout your home. The Tempstar SmartComfort VS 90 and VS 80 more evenly disperse heat throughout your home by using a two-stage ignition system with variable-speed blower operation. These blowers run on a low heating output setting most of the time and power up to full capacity when the weather turns really cold.

* Unsatisfactory comfort. Even if your furnace is operating correctly, it may not be providing an adequate amount of heat. If your furnace is too small for your home, it may not keep you warm enough. If your furnace is too big for your home, it may waste gas and not provide the comfort you expect. Tempstar provides a home furnace for every need. Contact your local Tempstar heating and cooling contractor to find out if your furnace is the proper size for your home.

* Poor indoor air quality. Running the blower to allow humidifiers and electronic air cleaners to clean indoor air is often costly for homes with older furnaces. The Tempstar SmartComfort VS 90 is energy efficient and affordable enough to run the circulating blower full time, which can result in cleaner air.

If your home heating system isn't providing you with the warmth you need, contact a home heating contractor to make repairs or help you choose and install a new furnace.
