The fall wind is blowing the leaves off the trees and into your yard. Now how can you make that fun? It's easy! Fall is a wonder season to play in, a wonderful season full of mother nature's own craft items. No need to go to a craft store when all the supplies you need are right outside your door. Here are three craft ideas to show your kids how you with them can have lots of fun in the fall.

1. Create An Autumn Yard Collage

Oh no! All that raking needs to be done. But then you get a wonderful idea! You can get your kids to help clean up the lawn, then you can go shopping for the things you will need to decorate your lawn. Together you can make an autumn yard collage. There are a few things you will need to accomplish this.

Materials

Bales of hay

Pumpkins in assorted sizes

Scarecrows

Witches

Any other Fall related items you can think of

You can stack your hay in the background.

Put a scarecrow or a witch in the middle.

Now you have a wonderful fall decorated lawn.

Make A Haunted Tree

It's easy as can be to make a haunted tree. Now that your lawn is decorated (because you made your autumn yard collage) and the leaves have been raked there is one last thing to do to make your yard decorating complete. Remember to save some leaves for the making of the ghosts for your haunted tree.

You will need the small size white trash bags. Here is how you make a ghost. Take a bag and stuff about half of the top with leaves, put a twist tie on it and turn it upside down and you have a ghost. You can put a couple or a ton of these ghosts on your tree by tying them to the tree branches. Watch what happens when the wind starts to blow!

Happy Autumn Cards

Here is a great indoor craft idea for you to enjoy with your kids when the weather doesn't let them play outside.
Gather some markers, paper, paste, glitter, and stickers. Let the kids design autumn cards on the paper decorating it with the stickers, special messages, glitter, you may have even brought in some beautiful fall colored leaves to use.

You can then mail these cards to Grandma and Grandpa, or send on to a favorite aunt or teacher. Another good idea is to bring some to a local nursing home and let them be distributed to the residents. What a treat that would be for them.

If you are involved with a scounting group you could use a project like this as a community service and the troops could work together to earn a merit badge.
