Get Dad a Gift that Will Improve His Quality of Life

(ARA) – What are you going to get dad for Father’s Day? According to Askmen.com, some of this year’s most popular presents will be watches, sporting event tickets and razors. But why not dare to be different and get dear old dad something that can drastically improve his quality of life instead?

A few years back, Tara O’Keeffe of Sisters, Ore., did just that. “My father was a cattle rancher who had severely cracked skin that left him hurting all the time. He had tried every prescription medication and over the counter treatment available, but nothing worked,” says O’Keeffe.

After she got out of pharmacy school, Tara put her newfound knowledge about the human body and pharmacology to work and developed a crème that did what none of the doctors could for her father -- close the splits so healing could begin. “It took a lot of trial and error, but I eventually came up with a formula that worked. You could call it a labor of love,” she says.

Now ten years later, that labor of love is helping others as well. At her father’s urging, O’Keeffe is now marketing her formulation as O’Keeffe’s Working Hands Crème. There is also a formulation available for people who need help dealing with cracks and sores on their feet -- O’Keeffe’s Working Feet.

The crèmes, which are a special formulation made up mostly of water and glycerin, hydrate the skin, stimulate its growth and trap moisture in the top layers. When applied to the hands and feet regularly, particularly at night before the user goes to bed, the crèmes are able to keep moisture in the skin where it belongs.

If your father, like Bill O’Keeffe, has a livelihood that depends on his hands or feet, is a do-it-yourselfer or sporting enthusiast who is always battling sores and blisters, a gift basket that includes a jar of one or both of the crèmes would make a great gift.

O’Keeffe recommends you also include a new pair of work gloves, good socks, insoles and maybe even a pedicure if your dad has a job that keeps him on his feet all day. “Any or all of these gifts are sure to be appreciated,” she says.

O’Keeffe’s Working Hands Crème is sold at Lowe’s and other home improvement stores nationwide. Its companion product, O’Keeffe’s Working Feet Crème is available at Walgreens stores nationwide. Both are also sold online through the company Web site: www.okeeffescompany.com
