New Garden Feeders Make Fertilzing Easier, Cleaner

(NC)-We've come a long way when it comes to fertilizing our plants. Over the centuries, ashes, lime, animal hair, pigeon and poultry droppings, old woolen rags, sawdust and of course, manure, have graced gardens in the name of adding nutrients and moisture for bigger, better plant growth.

But today there are easy to use garden feeders that simply attach to your hose, allowing you to water and feed your plants at the same time. Scotts, makers of the world's most popular plant food, is introducing a new "miracle" system that allows gardeners to feed as they water, with no mixing, measuring or mess. The new Miracle-Gro LiquaFeed garden feeder, which attaches to a regular garden hose, helps you feed your entire garden while watering, automatically mixing plant food with water at the correct rate.

"Research shows the majority of gardeners regularly water with a hose, so we developed a system that makes feeding as easy as watering," says Tracy Muxlow, manager for Miracle-Gro in Canada. "Because LiquaFeed helps people feed while they water, gardeners can provide their plants with the nutrition they need by continuing to do what they're already doing - watering their plants." The result? More growth and bigger blooms.

Getting started is as easy as:

1. Attach the LiquaFeed garden feeder to your hose;

2 Insert a bottle of LiquaFeed plant food concentrate into the feeder;

3. Feed by spraying onto leaves and soil of all plants to feed while you water.

The LiquaFeed garden feeder easily switches between 'feed' vs. 'water only' option, enabling you to use the feeder as a permanent hose attachment to both water and feed your garden and the spray nozzle has three different spray patterns. The convenient refill bottles eliminate mixing, measuring and mess. To eliminate spills, the bottles were engineered to release the plant food only when inserted into the garden feeder. The ergonomically designed garden feeder has a comfortable, soft-grip handle.

Scotts Miracle-Gro LiquaFeed Garden Feeder is available exclusively at Canadian Tire stores across Canada. The suggested retail price for the Starter Kit (garden feeder and two 567g refill bottles) is $19.99; refill packs (four 567g refill bottles) are $14.99.
