New Knits Feel Pretty, Witty And Bright

(NAPSI)-Sumptuous knits. Faux fur. Flouncy ruffles. While this season's most popular styles may satisfy all of the senses, there's even more for one sense to savor-the sense of touch.

For example, knits are now being made with a whole new set of yarns such as micro chenille that are dressy and feel delicious when worn.

"I worked hard to come up with a boucle blend that's softer to the touch, not the least scratchy," said Olga Yurechko, executive vice president of design and merchandising at Designers Originals, which creates dressy knits at moderate prices. "And the colors are gorgeous."

The new micro chenille blend-97 percent nylon and three percent spandex-means richness without the weight and unbelievable softness for maximum comfort.

The blend works well in long-sleeve V-necks and boat-neck pullovers in rich colors like teal-blue, spiced-pink and marigold. It's a delight in fringe cardigans, big- button cardigans and V-neck pullovers.

"Marilyn collar pullovers are sure to seduce," said Yurechko.

While hunting down excitement in your fall wardrobe, you may also want to consider the wealth of faux fur available in ocelot, cheetah, leopard, panther and lynx prints.

Even though the prints are wild, there's no roughing it. These vests and cardigans fit in a very flattering way.

While the front is faux fur, the back is a stretchy, comfortable acrylic knit.

Last, but certainly not least of this season's trends: ruffles. Ruffled clothes have become popular with the style-conscious woman who wants a more polished look, says Yurechko.

"Ruffles make things romantic and Luxelon makes it real is how I sum up Designers Originals for Fall 2005," says Yurechko. "Of course we're far more than ruffles-the new fall/winter line of twin sets, cardigans, ponchos and sweater blazers is also about bows, pearls, sequins, fur trims, ties and other sweet embellishments. It's retro but with a very forward feel thanks to our state-of-the-art machine-washable fabrics. Easy care is easy wear."
