(NewsUSA) - Looking to update your daytime look? When it comes to makeup, think clean and natural to enhance your own unique beauty.

A beautiful face starts with genuinely fresh and healthy skin. But in today's environment, pollution and other environmental stressors compromise the skin and contribute to visible signs of aging.

To combat these aggressors, Jillian Veran, Director of Color Artistry for Prescriptives, whose work has been featured at high-profile events such as New York Fashion Week and the Oscars, offers the following tips for a daytime makeover that's fresh, natural and healthy for your skin:

1. Prep for success. After thoroughly cleansing your skin, prep it with Prescriptives' new Super Line Preventor Xtreme, or SLP-X. This cocktail of antioxidants helps defend skin against environmental assaults while improving the look of visible lines and wrinkles.

Its Super Antioxidant System helps boost the skin's natural defenses against damage by free radicals triggered by environmental assaults both immediately after exposure and again up to 72 hours later. After prepping your skin with SLP-X, apply moisturizer for soft, smooth skin.

2. Get even. To even out your skin tone, apply a light foundation with a sun protection factor of at least 15. Look for a foundation that leaves your skin feeling fresh, not oily. If your skin feels natural, it will look natural too.

3. The eyes have it. When you strive for a clean, natural look, play up just one feature -the eyes - and leave the rest understated. For eyes that pop, coat lower and upper lashes with a volumizing mascara.

To create a wide-eyed, ingénue look, sweep the mascara wand straight up and then toward the outer corners of the eyes as you apply the makeup. For an ultra-full lash line, apply a black eye pencil underneath the base of the upper lash line.

4. Add a touch of blush. Apply a bit of blush on the apples of your cheeks for a natural, flushed look. Be careful not to apply too much. Like foundation, blush should never draw attention to itself.

5. Pucker up. Finish the look by glossing your lips with a sheer pink gloss. This will grant your lips a shiny pout that's striking but not unnatural.
