Red wine should be a part of your diet. It can be healthy for you. We all know different wines go better with different meals, but do you know which go with what? Here are some suggestions to enhance your meals with a complimentary wine.

Red Wine can be served with beef, veal, ham, pasta, poultry and pork meals.

When serving veal, ham, or pork, try a Red Zinfandel or a Beaujolais.

With pasta, lamb or beef, go for a Cabernet Sauvignon or a Merlot.

A White Chardonnay goes well with pork, seafood, poultry or a strong cheese.

A White Zinfandel or a Rose compliments appetizers, mild cheeses, desserts, or meats like, ham, lamb, poultry, and also seafoods.

Spumante or Champaign, the sparkling wines, also go well with desserts, appetizers and mild cheeses.

Pinot Grigio is a light, dry wine. It is a conservative choice for all your meals. You need not pay a lot of money for wine. Affordable wines such as a Pinot, or a Merlot are great choices, and are quite affordable. Most important is that you enjoy the wine you are going to be drinking.

The thing to remember when serving wines is to choose a light wine for light foods, and a fuller bodied wine for heartier foods.

Now, how should the wine be served? Chill the wine in a bucket filled with ice for about ten minutes. Sparkling wines should be chilled in the refrigerator for several hours before being served. If you forget to put the sparkling wine in the refrigerator, then place it in an ice filled bucket for thirty minutes before serving.

Wing glasses should be filled half way, this allows the wine to breathe.
