Skiing in Washington State Go To Crystal Mountain

If you live in or around Washington State or will be there visiting for some reason you can check out Crystal Mountain Ski Resort. Mount Rainier has a top elevation of 14,408 feet, and right below it is Crystal Mountain, Crystal has and elevation of 7004 feet, and it has a vertical drop of 3102 feet. In the winter season, and into the beginning of spring fresh powdery snow falls on Crystal Mountain because of the cold cascade storms that are common to this area.

There are ski lessons available and ski equipment rentals are located on site, but resort caters to the experienced skiers rather than the beginner since its terrain is pretty rough.

There are more than 2300 acres and fifty trails and that makes Crystal Mountain the largest ski resort in Washington State. There are ten lifts in all, two are high speed six passenger lifts, two are high speed quad lifts, there are also two triple chair, three double chair and one children's surface lift.

Ski Season at Crystal Mountain if from November to the middle of April. There are several different places to stay, eat and go to for entertainment in the evening, but the biggest attraction is the great skiing.

To help make your vacation as pleasant and carefree as possible Crystal Mountain offers many services to their guests to help make their stay there pleasant and convenient.

The Express Bus runs on weekends from Mid-December to Mid-March. The bus will pick you up at your hotel so you can relax on the way to the slopes and be dropped off at the base plaza. When your done with your fun on the slopes the bus will take you home again. You can call 1-800-665-2122 if you want to check out the prices and the schedules of the bus.

Wifi Internet Access is available at Crystal Mountain in the main base area lodge, so you can ski and surf here.

Right Angle Sports is a store to help with all needs you may have, from gloves, souvenirs or the newest skiing and snowboard equipment.

Stor-A-Ski is a great way to lessen your load this ski vacation. You can store your skis and bags on a daily basis or on an overnight basis. If you need any repairs or tuning on your equipment you can get it done in the repair shop.

Right in front of the ticket plaza at the entrance there is a Guest Drop Off Zone. Drivers can drop off their passengers and equipment, people can purchase the ski lift tickets, and there are restrooms available there so everyone can freshen up while waiting for the driver to park the car.

Every weekend and holiday there are several passenger shuttles that circle the parking lots and the ticket plaza to give rides to guests in the lower parking lots at Crystal Mountain.

In the Alpine Inn you can visit the Rainier Rides Ski & Snowboard Demo Shop. You will find a great variety and selection of skis and snowboards here. Any questions you have can be answered by the expert staff in this shop. There are also rentals of avalanche beacons and snowshoes to be found here.

Then you can stop for something to eat at the Alpine Inn. The Inn is open for breakfast Monday-Fridays from 7:30 AM-9.30 AM and on weekends from 7:00 AM -10:30 AM and for dinner on Sunday-Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM and 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.

If you want to relax and get a massage you can make an appointment at the East Peak Massage & Fitness Center where your aching and tired muscles can be revived with a hot tub, a sauna, a shower or even a massage. Sound good, doesn't it. If all that doesn't do it for you, you can hit the game room there.

There is a Kid's Club at Crystal Mountain. The Club opens at 8 AM and closes at 4 PM. It is open everyday for kids who are four to eleven years old. At the Kid's Club the children are supervised while they ski on a kid sized slope, and they can also snowboard but they must be at least 7 years old to do this. Your kids will be playing and enjoying themselves, while they are being supervised, and that leaves you the time to hit the slopes.

In the fee for the Kids Club the cost of lunch, a lesson, a ski lift ticket, and supervision is all included. If the kids have to rent equipment there is an extra fee involved.

There are several places to stay overnight near Crystal Mountain. One is an RV park, so if you want to drive in and hook up your RV make sure you get there early. Spots are first come first parked for 20.00 a night.

The Alta Crystal Resort offers chalet suites and a cabin at the base of Crystal Mountain. They have fireplaces, kitchens, satellite TV, and a heated pool and hot tub. Call them for more information at 1-800-277-6475.

RV Parking
Electrical hook ups for recreational vehicles are available for $20 per night. Located in Parking Lot B, space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Crystal Mountain is a place where there is fun for everyone. It makes a great spot for a family vacation, caters more to the intermediate and advanced skiers and offers lessons to the beginners.
