(NC)-Did your cleaning routine make it through the holidays?

Even if January 'blahs' have set in, a clean house makes you feel good. Cleaning may not be your favourite pastime, but it can be enjoyable if you're prepared for it.

"Cleaning is easier with the right products for the job," says Vivian Mah, marketing manager for Arm & Hammer.

"A million different products are unnecessary; just some good ones will get your home back in shape. And that might even inspire you to keep other resolutions."

The multi-tasker:

Baking soda offers effective cleaning, deodorizing power and 101 uses - alone or as a key ingredient in other products. An economical choice while credit card bills are rolling in from holiday purchases, it's also powerful, non-toxic and safe for use around children and pets. You probably have a box in the pantry - what could be easier?

In the kitchen:

Your feasting left enough leftovers to get you through to Valentine's Day, but do they taste like they should?

"Odours happen in your fridge and freezer, but baking soda is powerful enough to eliminate them so you can enjoy your holiday leftovers," says Mah.

Arm & Hammer's Fridge Fresh Air Filter exposes twice the baking soda of a regular box and its suction cup grips any surface in your fridge or freezer. The replacement indicator reminds you to change it after three months, too.

In the laundry room:

"There's something comforting about fresh laundry," says Arm & Hammer's Mah. "Even when it's cold and blustery out, crisp, clean sheets are a treat to slip into at night."

For cleaner, fresher, whiter laundry, add baking soda to every wash. Or, try Arm & Hammer Essentials, an affordable laundry detergent using biodegradable plant based soaps boosted with baking soda to deliver naturally powerful cleaning and fresher clothes. It's also safe for septic systems.

Wherever the pets are:

Fido loved the attention during those get-togethers, so don't forget him now. Help dogs stay fresh by giving them periodic dry baths. Sprinkle baking soda into dry fur and rub before brushing through.

Look for products with baking soda to eliminate odours and refresh fabrics and rugs. With litter box odours, clumping cat litter teamed with baking soda destroys odours on contact and enables you to locate and remove the source of the smell easily.
