(ARA) - An unmistakable nip in the air signals that the holiday season is upon us, bringing with it beautifully decorated shop windows, the fragrance of evergreen branches and colorful lights on every street corner. It’s a magical time when people eagerly anticipate giving – and receiving – the perfect gift. It’s also the time to remember those less fortunate by giving generously to charitable causes.

Now in its eighth year, the program donates the proceeds from one specially designed ornament to a children’s charity. For the fourth year in a row, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation will be the recipient of the company’s holiday donation.

The Foundation creates a future of hope for children and families worldwide by helping to eradicate pediatric AIDS, providing care and treatment for people with HIV/AIDS, and accelerating the discovery of new treatments for other serious and life-threatening pediatric illnesses.
“Each time someone purchases this special ornament they are helping to ensure a healthier tomorrow for children all over the world,” said Julianne Moore, a long-time Foundation supporter. “It’s through partnerships with companies like Lenox that the Foundation is able to provide a future of hope for children everywhere.”
This year’s special ornament, the Gilded Pearl Snowflake, is made of fine ivory china and an intricately pierced golden snowflake, decorated with touches of 24-karat gold and hand-set faux pearls.
“We hope that by creating one small ornament, we can help produce big changes. We are delighted to be associated with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation once again and recognize their invaluable contribution to families around the globe,” said Lou Scala, president and chief merchandising officer at Lenox.
