(NAPSI)-Moving to a new home can be stressful from the paperwork to packing and, of course, the several service calls. In fact, movers disconnect and connect up to five services, according to the new Cable Gets Movin' survey. Leslie Levine-moving expert and author of Will This Place Ever Feel Like Home?-understands mover's common frustrations and has some simple tips to make it as easy as possible for the whole family.

• Make Moving Fun. Kids can commemorate the move by becoming the family photographer. Give them a single-use camera and encourage a photo shoot of the new space. Later, e-mail the photos to family and friends or make a scrapbook of the exciting event.

• Avoid Call-Center Chaos. Minimize the amount of service calls you make by connecting your digital cable, high-speed Internet and phone service with one call to your local cable company, or simply dial the Cable Movers Hotline at 877-9TV-MOVE if you've already moved or want to become a new cable customer. The toll-free hotline processes the transfer between the existing and new cable provider to create a seamless transition without moving heavy hardware, set-top boxes or modems. The cable company will also install all equipment for you in one visit!

• Connect to the Community. One of the best ways to get acclimated to a new community is to learn about it before the move. Check out local news and entertainment online and research fun family activities such as art museums and zoos, which may offer a family membership at introductory discounted rates.

• Phone Home. Family and friends want to know how you're doing after the move, so pick up the phone and bring them up-to-date. But instead of choosing phone service through a traditional landline operator, try cable phone, the newest service in the cable roster. Call anyone, anywhere, regardless of their phone technology, and see a cost savings, while enjoying all of the same great services you'd expect from a phone company, like caller ID and voicemail.

• Break the Rules. Don't overdo it when it comes to unpacking. Get out of the house to reduce stress, and leave low-priority items to unpack for another day.

Cable companies have teamed up to provide an easy way for movers to connect cable services at their new address without missing a beat. Set up your home entertainment needs with one call to your local cable company or simply dial the Cable Movers Hotline at 877-9TV-MOVE if you've already moved or want to become a new cable customer.
