Traditional medical treatments primarily deal with just physical healing. Holistic healing therapies on the contrary, tackle the patient as a whole and not just the disease or the symptoms of the disease.
Holistic healing, deals with a person’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects, treating them as one whole unit and teaching the person to deal with issues and problems that cause stress and low self-esteem. Reiki is that holistic key to health and wellbeing.
Reiki comes from the Japanese characters - Rei or energy itself, a higher power or spiritual power and Ki or life force energy.
Reiki is known to have beneficial effects on men, women and children no matter what the age, since the treatment is channeled by divine forces.
Reiki’s energy is supposed to function for the maximum good of an individual and hence, it cannot hurt or harm anyone. The Reiki process heals the body mentally and spiritually, resulting in physical healing.
Even though Reiki’s one goal is promoting healing and health, various techniques are available. Different masters and students use different techniques in order to attract maximum Reiki energy for a particular individual, as energy levels differ between individuals. Techniques include: Tibetan Reiki, Ascension Reiki, Shamballa, Tera Mai Reiki, Atlantis Healing and Sacred Path Reiki among others.
Reiki is simple and any individual can experience and learn Reiki in a very short time. Reiki practitioners require that any individual wishing to learn Reiki, must be attuned by a Reiki master by receiving the Reiki I initiation process.
The Reiki master attunes the participant by passing energy and chakras to the body energy or aura of the initiate. On completing this initial rite, the participant can perform auto-Reiki on himself and perform Reiki on others for healing purposes. In time as the ability of the participant progresses, he can move on to the higher levels and finally become a Reiki master.
All living beings whether human, animal or plant can be treated with Reiki as every living thing is surrounded by energy fields. According to Reiki practitioners, animals respond faster to Reiki treatment than humans. The great advantage of Reiki is that it is totally noninvasive and does not react adversely with regular medication and therapy.
Studies have shown that combining Reiki with traditional treatment and medication has maximized the treatment’s effect producing faster healing. This is because Reiki enhances the potential of the medication or treatment instead of cross reacting with it or reacting adversely with it.
Reiki changes lives and improves overall well-being of the patient and the practitioner. All those trained in the art of Reiki; actually hold holistic healing literally in their hands.
Reiki combined with conventional medicine and therapy or by itself has given and continues to give hope and better living as a whole that covers body mind and spirit. Reiki’s benefits have been proved all over the world and so do testimonials of grateful patients who have gone on to become Reiki masters or just practitioners after benefitting from Reiki.
