You can go green and fight global warming, even at a wedding shower!

If your planning to have a wedding shower why not make it an environmentally friendly one!

Planning a green wedding shower is not much more work than throwing a regular one.

You only have to rethink a few of the ideas you already have. Keeping things green is so important in the larger picture of global warming and the future of the planet.

What is a more perfect occasion to use an environmentally friendly plan than at the start of a new future together as man and wife.

Here are some green ideas to help you plan your wedding shower.

1. Forget Disposable Cups and Plates

If your trying to be environmentally friendly use regular dishes and silverware.

Stay away from vinyl tablecloths. Vinyl tablecloths are difficult to recycle. Try using a tablecloth and napkin made of linen.

Safe for the environment and very classy!

You might even search for some tablecloths and napkins that are made from an organic material. If you have no choice but to use disposable tableware look for items made out of bamboo, or even bagasse which is biodegradable. If it is too expensive to buy these items you may want to check out a party rental store and see if you can rent them.

2. Don't Use Paper Wedding Shower Invitations

You can send out invitations to the wedding shower via email! If there are some guests who don't have Internet access you can send them an invitation...but it will only be a few! You can easily include an RSVP section so you know who will be attending.

3. Go Light with Decorations.

If your having the wedding shower at a rental hall it may not need too much decorating. Keep it simple is a good rule of thumb when your decorating for a shower.

Flowers make a beautiful statement, and you can buy organic flowers to decorate with. Simple and elegant is a great bridal shower theme.

4. Choose an Organic Food Menu

All you have to do is ask each caterer you interview if they have an organic food menu. If you are preparing the food yourself, it will be easy to buy organic ingredients you'll need.

5. Location is Everything

If your planning to rent a hall or having the wedding shower at a restaurant you can check out how green they are. Just ask them if they use organic foods or alternate energy sources

6. Eco-friendly Wedding Shower Games

You can easily keep your games green! You can buy reusable items as prizes, or try to reuse items to play different games, or use items made from recycled materials.

7. Is the Bride Selecting Green Gifts on Her Wedding Registry?

You can suggest to the bride that she register for green gifts! Explain to her the importance of going green and give her some great examples of organic and green gift ideas.

8. Get Green Wedding Shower Favors

You can find favors for the shower that are ecologically friendly! Some ideas are organic chocolates, wild flower seeds or organic body and bath products. If you enjoy being crafty you can, with the help of some friends, make eco-friendly shower favors yourself.

9. Recycled Thank You Cards

Of course, you must make sure the bride has some Thank you cards...why not buy her some cards made out of recycled material and put them in her wishing well. It makes a thoughtful and eco-friendly gift.

See- planning an environmentally friendly wedding shower was no more difficult than a regular one. You only have to plan a little out of the box and choose green over disposable.

What a great green gift to give to your friend, the bride, as she begins her newly married life. The gift of a future!
