Reiki is a noninvasive alternative therapy that helps balance the energy within the body, making the body balanced and healthy.
A Reiki practitioner will administer body balancing energy by laying his hands over specific points on the body and transferring the healing energy and balancing the body’s own energy to optimum.
Many Reiki methods are available and whole body Reiki aims at healing and balancing the complete triology of body, mind and spirit.
Normally, whole body Reiki is performed on individuals with illnesses or diseases and or patients on conventional medication and treatment.
It is common belief that a disorder to a certain part of the body will affect other parts and finally the whole body itself.
Whole body Reiki therapy detoxifies rejuvenates and cleanses the body. Often Reiki is used complementarily with conventional clinical treatments.
Reiki sessions tend to be very ceremonious and common observances need to be met before beginning a Reiki session. The patient must remove all jewelry and body accessories as these objects absorb and attract energy deviating it from the patient’s body, or it could obstruct and hinder the life force energy from flowing through the practitioner to the patient.
Both the practitioner and the patient or initiate, must thoroughly wash their hands before the Reiki session for relaxation and for a feeling of freshness. It is believed that everyday things influence the aura and is removed by washing. Lastly an acknowledgement or prayer for healing is said to each one’s own faith, for entering the domain of prayer and relaxation.
The practitioner will then even out the aura of the recipient, by making him lie down and massaging in a circular motion the full length of the body. This is repeated about three to four times as it helps the Reiki process. Finally, the recipient is energized.
Energy is said to be embedded within the body’s chakras, present from the top of the head to the middle of the torso. Energizing is done by the practitioner holding his hand perpendicularly over the recipient’s body and moving it repeatedly from head to pelvis.
Reiki has various positions for the performance of Reiki, therefore it is important for the practitioner to be aware of health conditions in order to aim for the areas which need additional Reiki for healing.
The number of exercises, positions and strength of Reiki used, like time interval for placing hands etc, is subject to the practitioner and his methodology. Normal Reiki sessions are performed from fifteen to twenty minutes. For certain cases this may prolong for sixty to ninety minutes.
Reiki is a simple process that requires faith in it. Testimonials are posted on the internet and elsewhere on the benefits of Reiki as a healing and sustaining force. Being noninvasive, it can easily be a complement to traditional medicines.
In fact some physicians are promoting Reiki along with medication for better recovery and less adverse effects. Reiki can provide the well-being and longevity and peace so sought after by man.
