(ARA) - More and more couples are opting for weddings with less frills and fuss and instead, celebrating with ceremonies that suit their lifestyles. This casual ambience translates into the honeymoon and subsequently, the home.
The ceremonies are low-key, with dresses from J. Crew for the bride and her attendants. Banana Republic and Ann Taylor also sell a line of wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses for brides-to-be looking for simplicity and style at a reasonable price. The bottom line: couples are planning alternative and informal weddings, including destination weddings. In fact, 10 percent of the 2 million American couples that marry each year plan so-called destination weddings. That’s a 200 percent increase in the past decade, according to Conde Nast’s Bridal Group Infobank and Modern Bride Magazine.

This increase in destination weddings and more casual celebrations has in turn led to downplaying the traditional romanticism of the honeymoon. Guests are invited for a much-needed vacation to join the couple to enjoy activities such as skiing, hiking, white water rafting, hot air ballooning or simply hanging out at the beach. For couples who choose the beach, many brides are excited to kick off their shoes and dig their toes into the sand. Not donning the traditional white gown is another plus that scores big points among casual brides.

Casual attitude does not stop at the wedding or honeymoon. Once these modern brides return home, they are translating a relaxed approach to their new living space. In a quest for comfort, home furnishings have taken on an important role toward delivering the casual lifestyle Americans crave. Designs have been influenced with simple details, clean lines and calming colors. The result is a casual style that is warm, inviting and homey, driven by flexibility and good design.

Natuzzi, the Italian designer and maker of upholstered furnishings that comprise comfort and affordable luxury, offers seating to accommodate this trend of “Casual Living” with light, bright and airy styles to meet the need for harmonious spaces and great design.

Natuzzi introduces a new color in leather called “Daffodil” – a softer shade of yellow – on its Almir sofa and loveseat, which also features contrast stitching. Designed to be always lighter or darker, but never different, the contrast stitching detail is predetermined to best enhance the total look of the furniture. The sofa and loveseat are paired with a striking swivel chair, shown in a lemon-striped accent fabric.

Also, Natuzzi’s Domino is more than just a sofa or sectional. It can expand and contract for endless configuration possibilities, as each section, including the asymmetrical arms, can stand alone, or together. From a friendly get-together to dinner and a movie for two, its flexibility is perfectly suited for the casual lifestyle of today.

Pasquale Natuzzi, designer and CEO, says “We are inspired by many lifestyles; our lives are influenced by many things. It is important to recognize this when we at Natuzzi design the furnishings and accessories that make up our ‘living rooms’ for your living rooms. For us, it is not enough to create beautiful furniture. We must create a total look that speaks to our customers.”

For couples looking for luxury that’s unpretentious, Natuzzi offers a stylish and savvy selection of furniture and accessories. Homeowners are shopping for furnishings to fill their homes that will be comfortable for everyday living and welcoming to friends. It’s all about individualized style that’s casual and comfortable yet chic and smart. For more on Natuzzi, visit www.natuzzi.com. Courtesy of ARA Content
