When your going on a skiing vacation it is not always easy to know what to pack. You may know what to pack, but don't know how your going to pack it all. It's hard to get skis into a suitcase, and traveling a distance adds to the difficulty. Here are a few suggestions to make it a little easier, and a packing list to make it a lot easier.

You can begin by researching your destination. Is there a rental shop there? How much do the rentals cost, you may decide its easier to rent your skis, boot, poles, and snowboards. That may begin to make your trip much easier than you first anticipated. It will certainly make your packing go quicker.

Another thing you could do is look into some of the local ski shops and see if they sell used equipment. You still have to get it home though, unless the shops are willing to buy it back, so find that out before you decide to do this. Some people like their own equipment, not matter how much trouble it is to get it to your destination.

Now, how many days are you going for? Will you be staying in a hotel, where you must go to a restaurant for every meal? Or will you stay in a townhouse with a kitchen? This will help you decide how many outfits you need to bring. Then of course, there are your snow clothes.

Ski suits, ski jackets, parkas, sweaters, layers of underwear, and socks.

Some people don't like to wear the same ski outfit everyday. Are you one of them? Are you going to be out on the slopes everyday? This will help you figure out just how much ski clothing you want to bring. Don't forget your gloves and socks, can't have too many of them when your skiing.

Because the ski clothing is so bulky, you may think about shipping it to your resort. This can save you a lot of time and energy while traveling. You may be able to ship some of your equipment too. Make sure the resort will hold it at the desk, in case it gets there before you do, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Now here is your check list:

Important Stuff:

Remember your identification, and your money
