Reiki is a noninvasive alternate healing process that has withstood the test of time. Modern medicines, including physical therapy have not proved themselves to be totally healing. With so much adverse reaction to today’s medical care, more and more people are looking for noninvasive alternative medicine, tested over hundreds and thousands of years. These treatments saw the individual as a whole and treated both the body and the mind at the same time.
Reiki is a Japanese healing art using Ki, spiritual energy, for healing the organs in order to heal the body. In most ancient religions, Ki is life force or energy found within all forms of life. The Chinese termed this force as Qi or Chi and considered it a natural, universal energy that must be maintained in balance.
Indian traditions put the Ki to equal Prana, or life sustaining energy force. No matter what, Ki is fundamental for all life forms including human.
The philosophy behind Reiki is that, a disease or disorder is a manifestation of an obstruction to the normal flow of Ki. Reiki uses methods and techniques that reinstate the normal, healthy flow of Ki within and around the body, energizing the body and healing the condition.
Reiki practitioners undergo training in the expertise of channeling Ki towards those needing Reiki treatment. Practitioners lay their hand on a patient’s specific body points and areas in need of treatment, passing on the energy to balance the patient’s energy flow. Advanced Reiki practitioners are sometimes able to do the same without physical contact and maintaining their hands a couple of centimeters above the Reiki points. Restoring the Ki flow makes the patient feel better with the treatment.
Reiki organizations exist all over the world today, spreading the principles and teachings of this healing art. Even though it originated in the east, Reiki has grown to become a very popular non-invasive, alternative treatment in the west. Many believers in Reiki therapy have given testimony on the benefits of Reiki and the positive changes to their lives due to Reiki.
Reiki practitioners and their followers often involve their own families in the process, despite the absence of diseases or disorders. Reiki provides families with a feeling of well-being, renewal and contentment. They claim to find peace of mind, with better sleep and less and less stress.
Medical experts recommending alternative and or complementary medicine have found that most physical disorders are manifestations of emotional and physical factors. Just thinking constantly about the likelihood of any disorder can cause the body to manifest the symptoms of the disorder.
Reiki, as with other non-invasive alternate healing therapies, needs the patient to be willing, believing and submissive to the therapy for the healing to begin and work. If the mind of the patient negates the restoration of the energy flow, automatically the body will shut itself off from the benefits of Reiki. Believing in the ability to be healed by Reiki will indeed go a long way to be truly healed.
