Here comes the New Year and the most common resolution you get to hear is about losing weight. Then you hear about how the resolution to lose weight got lost somewhere down the line.
If you are at that crossroad again where you make the decision to diet and quit before you have achieved what you wanted to achieve then here’s good news or you. There is a plan that you can stay with and it does not matter if you are a chronic dieter or a first timer attempting to diet.
Start with the selection of a plan that is not strict. Go for a diet that restricts intake of everything white or maybe carbs, proteins or any one thing.
The whole trick is not to deny you the good things but to eat in moderation. Moderation should be your key word. Effective weight loss is possible by those who practice moderation.
Of course there are diets which make you go on a start-stop trip which is actually not good for you because not only can it trigger off some extreme highs and lows, your body will have trouble adjusting to the new routine each time. A steady eating pattern will ensure that the one glass of wine last evening or the birthday treat will not go sit on your hips but your body will be able to take charge of that little extra and not pile on the kilos. Not only is this acceptable to your system, it is good for your emotions too.
Poor eating habits come about when you go on a binging and fasting trip. Your body does not know what to think since it is getting mixed messages. From fresh fruits and vegetables to just hot water and honey is a route your body cannot find the map to.
Think of the far reaching consequences before you embark on a plan. Can you do without sugar for the rest of your life or even for a year? Can you stay off bread like sugar? There are some diets which give the impression that you can stick with it for good. But if you cave in mid way, it will make you put on more weight which will then make you very discouraged.
A diet is difficult to follow because you have to now eat carefully and be very conscious of what you are eating. What you need is to find a plan where you can eat sensibly and where you don’t have to leave a full food group off your plate. Rather than following a diet, follow your heart and select a diet which you know in your mind you can follow.
