(NAPSI)-There are probably a million and one uses for duct tape and, chances are, you have at least one roll lying around somewhere-in the garage, on your tool bench or in a drawer. Now, it's time to put that sticky stuff to good use. Here's how:

• Around the house-Duct tape can be great for quick home fixes, such as mending tears and holes in furniture, temporarily patching holes in pipes to prevent leaking or keeping a broken cupboard or refrigerator door shut until it can be replaced or fixed. If you are packing up items for storage or a move, seal and color-code boxes with duct tape to make them easier to identify. To help with that, Duck® brand duct tape is available in 19 colors and patterns, making color-coding simple.

• Carry it in your vehicle-Whether you drive a car, sport utility vehicle, truck or recreational vehicle, you should have a roll of duct tape on hand for emergencies. Use duct tape to temporarily repair tears in hoses and belts, tape cracked windows and lights or hold up broken fenders and bumpers. Duct tape can be a handy addition to your emergency roadside kit, glove compartment or trunk.

• Take it to the trail-Duct tape has been called the ultimate tool for outdoor adventures. Useful for repairs, protection, even temporary first aid, bikers and backpackers say don't leave for the trail without it. Duct tape is handy to fix holes in clothes and gear, mend broken or damaged equipment and mark bags, tools and water bottles. You can also seal off pant bottoms and other openings in clothes to prevent contact with plants and pesky bugs.

• Travel with it-From reinforcing luggage in worn areas to taping window curtains shut in order to keep the sunlight out of your hotel room, duct tape can make a great travel companion. In addition, you can mark your luggage for easy identification, temporarily fix a fallen hem or hide things under hotel tables and chairs-just don't forget them when it's time to leave.

To keep duct tape on hand, try the Duck® brand duct tape carabineer. Featuring five yards of silver duct tape, this metal carabineer can be clipped to a tool belt, backpack, belt loop or luggage and easily transported from the garage to the garden to the great outdoors.

To keep your roll of duct tape in good shape from strip to strip, store it in a dry, temperate environment-this will keep the adhesive pliable. If you would like to stack your rolls for storage, keep a sheet of parchment paper between them to keep the rolls from sticking together.
