Victorian Tea Party Ideas are the perfect party theme for girls. Don't you remember your own childhood tea parties?

Mine were spent with a plastic tea set and a guest list of stuffed animals and dolls. I remember how serious I was when I prepared my tea table with care.

You don't have to use your good china for a kids tea party. You can dress your table up with the help of some paper doilies and pretty colored paper cups. Petite fours or mini cupcakes make a perfect dessert to go along with your tea.

Play Parlor Games

Parlor games are the traditional party game to play while having the girls over for tea. Trivia, charades, and musical chairs are all fun game ideas to keep young girls entertained.

Plan a Craft

You can plan a craft activity for your party guests that can double as the party favor. With the help of some Victorian clip art or pictures cut from a magazine, some colored paper and more paper doilies you can help each guest make a lovely card. You can also make tea party hats out of some paper plates. These crafts are fun for the kids and don't need a lot of advance preparation. If you have scraps of material, some silk flowers, feather and ribbons, you've got the making of some fine hats. When everyone is done, you can have a fashion show and let everyone show off their millinery designs.

Take Pictures

Make sure to have a camera handy so you can take a picture of each girl in her hat. Pictures are a wonderful idea to enclose with a thank you card. This way everyone has a momento of the party and of their hat!

Make Party Invitations

You can even make your own party invitations. More paper doilies, and paper, along with some clip art will make fine invitations fitting your Victorian tea party ideas.

Tea Party Decorating Ideas

Wrap your utensils in a napkin and tie a ribbon around it to keep them wrapped. Imagine what a pretty table you will be able to set with this simple, but elegant idea.

Victorian Tea Party Menu

If you plan to serve food , in addition to your mini cupcakes, you can make finger sandwiches. Cut the crust off your bread to make these dainty little culinary delights. Fill them with what ever you like. It can be lunch meat, cream cheese, or any sandwich spread you have a recipe for. Your little Princess will feel like quite the lady as she hosts her first Victorian tea party. I'll bet it won't be her last!
